I Especially Remember One Phone Call From My Cousin Telling Me of her experience sewing curtains for the first time. She was almost finished except for hemming them by hand when she heard a knock at the door. When she jumped up to answer it, she discovered she had sewn the curtains to her pants! Can you imagine the expression of the salesman at the door when he took one look at her? I don't have to tell you . . . I still chuckle! Another time she was making warm flannel sheets for their sleeping bags for an upcoming camping trip. When they got ready to crawl into their beds that night, her husband discovered she had sewn all four sides together! But did I mention we had ingenuity? She took the scissors and cut the tops off and crawled in bed! (I was delighted she didn't try to hem them!) I'm sure you have had similar experiences where you wanted to make something yourself.
