So You Want To Purchase
Indoor Window Shutters

Do you want indoor window shutters for your home? They are so beautiful if done by a professional company that knows what they are doing. Indoor window shutters can add tremendous ambiance and fulfillment to a home.

For many years, shutters were the only window coverings you could actually add to your mortgage, because it was known industry wide that they added so much to the value to your home. Of course, now mortgage companies allow other types of window treatments on your loan; depending on where you do your financing.

There are many spectacular indoor window shutters, including interior wood shutters and amazing faux wood shutters gracing windows of homes today that complement any style of decor. Some have the fine finish of exquisite custom furniture with exotic woods, finely hand crafted into excellent works of art.

But, there is much to consider before you purchase indoor window shutters. There are many pros and cons circling the choice to do or not to do. It's my goal to provide you with the tools to make a smart choice BEFORE you sign on the dotted line.

Custom Window shutter - Window Size And Light Diminish

When considering a custom window shutter, one of the first things you need to decide is whether you want the window opening you are covering to aesthetically look smaller and darker than before. If so, will it be a pleasing change to the room?

If your window size inside measurement is 48 inches square and you want interior window shutters; when installed will actually make the size of that opening smaller due to framing. You will lose about two inches on all four sides. Now your 48 inch square opening appears to be more like 46 inches.

That's the outside perimeter of the window . . .

Now you have to add top and bottom, divider rails, T-posts, stiles, and louvers to the inside of the window. See how it can start looking smaller and darker?

While the size and light may change in some rooms, the overall beauty of a room can also take on a whole new character with the installation of indoor window shutters; especially like the ones shown in this picture.

These full louvered arch shutters have a streamlined appearance without bulky bolt-on magnets or other distractions and obstructions. Built specifically for strength and functionality, they remain very lightweight while accenting the crown molding and tray ceiling of the room.

In this example, one would never notice the size and light change of this room; only the lasting beauty and elegance it adds to the decor. These custom window shutters also look beautiful in an arched kitchen window with the top half open and bottom half cafe shutters. You have your choice of shutter hinge color also.

Why such a wide range of prices for Interior Window Shutters?

Some companies have shutter stock based upon builders "standard" window sizes. If the majority of your windows are near those sizes, a bargain is yours. They are not custom window shutters, so there are usually no specialty shapes or limited colors, frame and louver choices. These are outside mounted for convenience and their "not-exact-fit" sizes, but they are still beautiful indoor window shutters.

They are considered a "no frills" shutter stock, however, they have construction equal to the custom window shutter. They cost less because they are pre-assembled shutters and manufactured in bulk. But you have to have standard sized windows to qualify. Many times they can be mixed very well with a custom window shutter to make a perfect match at affordable prices.

The other end of this spectrum is a full-blown custom window shutter. Some people prefer special wood, or special stain or paint, or perfect match to something else in the home. These are at the high end of a budget - custom work means custom pricing.

An interior window shutter with a fan eyebrow arch, unique window shapes, marble window sills, sand blasting, cut-outs for cranks and handles, rear tilt bar or clear view, custom matched paint or stain; these will make a difference in the cost, depending upon their significance and style.

A truly custom window shutter is a flawless look with long lasting performance, artistry at it's best, decadent eloquence, excellence in hand craftsmanship; and it should and will cost more.

The indoor window shutter is ageless and pure. It doesn't matter your choice of fine wood shutters or faux wood shutters. Norman makes them elegant in every way.

Motorized Shutters?

Yes, it is true! It is here! Motorization for indoor window shutters ! With the flip of a wall switch or the touch of a remote control, you can set the tilt of louvers anywhere you want them; open, closed, tilt down, or tilt up. No more ladders or extension polesfor those hard to reach windows. Indoor window shutters that are motorized with remote control are so practical on door walls and tall or out of reach windows.

Just what we need for our home the- aters and great- room windows! Operate one alone or all together in unison. Controls glare, heat, cold, and privacy. And what a great safety feature around small children and pets. This is truly an awesome custom window shutter.

But there are things you should know considering cost of a motorized custom window shutter. The biggest thing is the batteries. You'll want to order rechargeable batteries; even over lithium. They are recharged with solar energy. And they are the longest lasting available.

In normal usage of three times per day, a standard alkaline battery will last about eight months; a lithium batter about 2 years; and a rechargeable one about 3 years! Indoor window shutters, whether they are custom wood shutters or faux wood shutters, shutter stock, or pure custom window shutter; are a choice of timeless beauty for your home. You can only go wrong in one way.

You can have the look of cheap junk you'll want to throw out soon, that you just spent a million dollars on, if done by someone who doesn't have either the experience or a clue what it takes to do a job well, and takes no pride in his work or the product; and is only there to "sell you a cheap plantation shutter".

OR, you can have the look of a million dollar completed interior window shutters project that costs you a fraction of that amount, if done by a professional who has the knowledge and experience of a fine hand craftsman, that takes pride in his work and the finished product; and will not leave your home until you are perfectly satisfied with everything he has just accomplished for you. This is custom window shutter and indoor window shutters at their best and they will be beautiful for a very very long time. And he is only there to please you!

I wouldn't sell you anything except the very best - so always look for this trusted company before you buy from me or anyone else:
