Looking For Window Treatments With Home Energy Savings?

Consider for a moment what you visualize home energy saving window treatments to be. (No, we are NOT talking "newspaper and aluminum foil" here). Stretch your imagination a little farther than that for a moment. Dream a little . . .

Now, I know I have a vivid imagination, and by some standards I'm a dreamer. But when you talk about "saving energy" and "energy efficiency", honestly, can it get any better than this? Just take me away to Jamaica and put a glass of wine in my hand, and I'll save so much energy you'll need a stick of dynamite to get me off that island! But all kidding aside . . .

There is still so much to be learned about conserving energy and what to do to make a difference in our future and that of our children, especially. You could get many of your questions answered by an architect.

An architect has the most up to date and the greatest knowledge

of home energy saving techniques of anyone on the planet! But you'd have to choose one who could inspire your confidence and work within your budget. This could take some time. This would be my first choice if I were in the planning stages.

However, if you are still working on what's left of your budget, and beyond the building or restoring stages of your home; this could easily be a budget-buster solution, a slow down in production, and very expensive.

Another solution for you that I can recommend, provides a variety of techniques and information to build and maintain eco-friendly green designs is Sustainable Housing Design. You will find helpful videos, facts, how to's and many alternative methods to sustain green living there.

Those Beautiful Two-Story Tall Windows

And speaking of architects, those beautiful two-story tall windows that so elegantly bring the outdoors in, encased in beautiful wood you want to show off, can be a problem. Some people believe they should not be covered at all. They obviously don't live in the desert with a western exposure ! But if that's the look you want, you certainly can have your view and cover it too!

Whatever your choices, be aware of what these uncovered windows can do to a beautiful hardwood floor, an expensive piece of furniture, or an antique tapestry in just a very short time. It will both amaze and dishearten you!

Let me indulge your creative senses a bit down another path for awhile. What if you could find beautiful fabric window coverings for your double french sliding glass doors that have a side stack of ONLY six inches, regardless of width; AND suppose you could cut your home energy bills SUMMER and WINTER by approximately 30% with these window solutions? Would this satisfy your home energy needs?

Don't you just love products with terrific design AND exceptional performance?

What if you could darken your media room, divert glare from your big screen; allow natural light into the room to read, play cards, help the kids with their homework or games, or use your laptop? Seem too forward thinking? Or what if you have a wonderful view of the mountains; the most beautiful back yard landscaping; but in the middle of all this beauty is a row of rooftops. But you want to enhance the best of both your views while eliminating the rooftops all with one clean home energy window treatment that is energy efficient.

Dramatic Look Of Thermal Curtains or Insulated Window Shades?

Would you choose a more dramatic look with thermal curtains and insulated window shades to cloak openness from the outside elements of heat and cold, glare, and harmful UV rays. And what about privacy? What about security? These are just a few of the many ideas offered for home insulation recommendations.
