Window Treatment Glossary

A window treatment glossary explaining in simple terms, descriptions and definitions of window covering designs, drape ideas, types of drapery styles, and window covering drapes terminology and slang terms used everyday by people who want to know more about window fashions.

Section 1 - A through D

In this section, we will cover the terms from A through D including some "opinions" and "beliefs" about things like Aesthetically Correct, Beautifully Appointed Windows, Casual Folds & Knots, Classic Old World Workmanship, and Creativity.

We will touch upon some traditional definitions of things like Contemporary Styles, Decorative Hardware, Drapery Rings and Hooks, and Black Out Drapery or Shade.

Then we will bounce to unconventional random thoughts on ideas like Designer Custom Made Drapes, Do It Yourself Window Treatments, and Drapery Designs.

Section 2 - E through H

In this section of the window treatment glossary, we will explain for you the terms like Eco-Friendly, Embellishments, Face Fabric, Faux Wrought Iron , Finial, Goblet Pleats, and Hobbled Roman Shade; because these are common things that most people are curious about what they "really" are.

We will also touch upon some thoughts and opinions about things like Elegant Beauty, Eye Candy, Fan Folded, Forging Iron, Good Designers, and Home Window Treatments; because these are things that one should have an opinion about - or at least a remote idea - when remodeling or building a home. (And some people are just curious enough to want to hear others opinions).

Section 3 - I through M

In Section 3 of the window treatment glossary, we will find some meaning to conventional type words and phrases like Inexpensive Window Treatments, Interior Decorator& Interior Designer, Jabots, Lambrequins, and Motorized Drapery.

Then we will try diligently to give meaning to other words and phrases that are not so conventional, but important in the window treatment process like Individuality, Inner Designer, Match Patterns at Seams, Modern Contemporary Look, Monochromatic Color Tones, and Modern Lines.

Section 4 - N through S

Here in Section 4, we will enlighten your senses with definitions, opinions, and thoughts about such words and phrases like Non-Operative Drapery Panels, Over The Pole Open Swag, Playful Sensuous Sheers, Popular Drapery Styles, Puddled on the Floor, Ready-Made Drapes, Scarf Valance, Shirred, and Stand Alone Window Treatment.

Section 5 - T through Z

This is our last section glossary, and I will make every effort to give you meaning and understanding of words and phrases like Tab Top Drapery, The Latest Style, Tone on Tone, Top Treatment, Types of Drapery Styles, Unique Window Treatment Idea, Window Covering Designs, and Window Top Treatment.

This section, as all others, will include personal and opinionated ramblings that I am neither responsible for nor are they original in thought, I am sure. However, they are MY thoughts at the time of writing this and subject to change if someone can and will take the time to show me differently. I'm a good listener and would love to hear YOUR opinion. Likewise, I am quite willing to change my opinion if you give me good sound reason to do so. br>
