Unique Drapery Trim, Accessories, And UsesThere are some very interesting and unique drapery trim available outside the standard and ordinary drapery accessories like fringe, beads, tassels, etc.;that only a few designers and workrooms utilize today. I am truly amazed at how creative one can be when they gain the confidence to express themselves. Sometimes the outcome of those artistic urges are the birth of fantastic trends that are copied and borrowed for generations!
Here's a little ingenuity for effect. Here we have taken the soft sheer fabric to match the sheer draperies and created wrapped tabs for the tab top drapery panels for a soft luscious look of formal living. We then shirred the same fabric in combination with the other fabric to make drapery hold backs for the panels, and added drapery weights for continuity of placement. Can you envision this unique drapery trim working for your home? It doesn't have to be formal. What if you took the same principals applied here and change the fabrics to denim drapery panels accented with red handkerchief patterned cotton fabric? What a great look for a teens room or any informal area of your home. The days of drab curtains and boring window treatments are now long gone and there is plenty to fill your creative senses. Just let your imagination go and see what it can find. It's easy to enhance and accentuate your windows with significant or insignificant additions of unique drapery trim, drapery accessories, and drapery supplies.
Take this simple drapery pulley shown here. The obvious place to use something like this is on the bottom of a roller shade to dress it up and add some pizazz! Right? But what if you wanted to add just a little color over a window with a soft scarf or sheer swag threaded through a few of these pulleys. This looks terrific to hang from around a small arched window?
If you already have an expensive fabric you want to show off but just want to customize it "you" in a simple but elegant way; why not try crystal teardrops at the base of each goblet pleat like is shown here? This unique drapery trim, coupled with exquisite drapery hardware, the beautiful swirled silky fabric; these teardrops make a subtle statement . . .

It doesn't have to be outrageously expensive if it is put together correctly and in a unique way that makes you feel unique. That's the key! You want to be pampered and you want to feel special. Here's a nice combination of unique drapery trim mixed with different fabrics to form a whimsical and exciting window treatment for a young girls room. This designer has displayed informal free-form swags connected by tied bows and draped across a carved cornice that has been trimmed with drapery bullion and cording then hung over drapery and sheers that have drapery weights added to the bottom. You could actually crochet your own edging for this treatment for a completely different look. This is a terrific array of creativity and freedom of thought constructed with great confidence! I can actually visualize her wool felt beads and a combination of the twisted tassel edging on a colorful tapestry scarf valance over panels. Can you see it? This is truly one of a kind and is a stand-alone window treatment in need of nothing except to enjoy it! 
This feminine pink valance is a classic example that you don't need conventional thoughts or unique drapery trim in order to create a conversation piece for your window treatments. This shiny fabric was patterned into petal shapes for the top of the double length valance and shirred on a wide drapery rod (available through drapery suppies) and accented in fabric flowers in the corners. The petal shape has been stiffened to hold it's shape on top. 
A beautiful ensemble shows creativity and subtle lines with blue silk knots on the down duvet cover. It is welted on the edges with the same fabric. Color enough to add the sophistication and elegance we were trying to achieve. Whatever your tastes are, even if you don't know what they are, experiment, test, create, make mistakes, fail, make more mistakes, fail again, then relax and let your imagination run wild. You have the creativity in you to create something special. Okay, so maybe you are not so handy physically! That's okay! Just because I was born with a tool belt on my waist; doesn't mean everyone was! A funny thing, though, all kidding aside; the power tools in the garage are mine, the work bench is mine, and I never miss an opportunity to tell the world that my husband is soooooooo handy . . . . . . that he thinks a screw driver is something to DRINK!!! Imagine that!! :~) With that note of chuckle, I will leave you to your imagination and creative abilities and dream up your own unique drapery trim.
