About Me And My Love For Window Treatments
I'd like to start by telling you a little about myself and how I arrived at this stage of my life and why I do what I do. It's called passion.
My love for window treatments and design began very early in my life. I remember as a child I used to watch my mother and my grandmother make "flour sack" curtains and clothing in awe.
Anyone remember the pretty patterns on the flour sacks? (I think I still have an apron or two that my grandmother made and wore back then, and I believe the pockets are still filled with the peppermint candy she loved so much!)
That was my first encounter with window treatments. Later, as a young student in my first apartment with old beat up furniture that had holes, broken springs, and worn beyond their recommended years.
The walls, the curtains, and the blinds a color of white that plainly represented "old", "used" and "badly abused". What could I do here with such a pitifully small budget?

Remember contact paper? Great colors and patterns but very, very sticky and unforgiving to work with. But I covered octagon peanut boxes with it and used some to form a pattern on the venetian blinds. I cut, peeled, and stuck each strip on the blinds so that when they were closed made a perfect pattern! (I wish I still had that patience!)
Hey, Remember The '60's? The "Boomers"? It Was Flower Power!
So here I am, 40+ years later, 30+ years in Summerlin and Las Vegas, and my passion for window treatments and custom curtain design has not diminished even for a second. I am just as awe inspired today as I was all those years ago - maybe even more so.
But I've grown tired of hearing the same story when I go to a friend's house and hear them say, "yes, it IS beautiful, but it's just not ME"!
So my independence and tenacity has progressed into a burning desire to help people be original in thought and not be afraid of their own ideas for how they want their home to look.
I have decided to take these experiences and share them with you in hopes of making your journey into window treatments a pleasant and enlightening one.
